Description
This is the exact bridge/neck combo Dimebag Darrell relied on to get that thick, crunchy-but-controlled Pantera roar — saturated enough to bite, but never so loose it turns to mush. Seymour Duncan built the set hand-in-hand with his tone preferences, and it still ships hand-built in Santa Barbara, CA.
- Dimebucker (bridge): A ceramic bar magnet paired with dual stainless steel blades gives you tight, punchy low end and scooped mids that stay articulate under heavy gain. Pick attack comes through crunchy and slightly saturated — not fuzzed-out — with just enough sag when you dig in hard. Wired with 4-conductor lead for flexible switching, and vacuum wax potted to kill microphonic squeal at high volume.
- ’59 (neck): Dime chose this pickup specifically for the neck slot to smooth things out and add extra teeth to his solos. It’s built with vintage-correct details, right down to the cloth-braided hookup wires, and it’s also wax potted for quiet, stable performance.
Run these two together and you get that signature push-pull: low end that thumps, top end that cuts without shredding your face off, and a distortion character that stays warm and musical instead of turning to noise. If you’ve ever cranked a Pantera record, this is the sound.
This bundle also includes a free set of Ernie Ball EB2222 Hybrid Slinky strings, so you can get the whole rig dialed in at once.
