Description
The Quarter Pound Flat Strat earns its name from the chunky quarter-inch diameter magnets packed inside — hand-polished and paired with a beefed-up coil winding that pushes output well beyond what a traditional single-coil can deliver. Think more than double the horsepower of a stock Strat pickup, channeled into a fat, punchy voice that leans closer to a P-90 than a classic single-coil, while still holding onto that inherent single-coil clarity.
Backed off, it cleans up nicely for blues phrasing and vintage tones. Push the amp or stomp on a drive pedal, and it turns aggressive fast — this pickup was built to scream. The dense magnet structure and winding also give it noticeably longer sustain than a stock pickup, which is a big part of why it’s become one of Seymour Duncan’s most requested single-coils for players chasing rock, garage, and heavier styles without abandoning single-coil character.
- True single-coil design, no cover
- Quarter-inch diameter, hand-polished magnets
- High output for a single-coil — over double stock Strat pickup power
- Fat, punchy tone comparable to a P-90
- Cleans up well at lower volume, aggressive when driven
- Enhanced sustain from magnet and winding combo
Suited for blues, classic rock, garage rock, heavy rock, and metal players who want single-coil bite with serious muscle behind it.
