It’s a plug-in mid boost stage designed specifically for these XTCT-based systems, adding a focused peak at 250Hz along with an extended treble shelf running from 2KHz up to 15KHz. The result is more girth and presence without losing clarity up top.
What makes this module useful in practice is how the mid control interacts with it. Rotate from the center click toward minimum and you’re cutting low mids around 400Hz — great for scooping out mud on a boomy bass. Push from center click toward maximum instead, and the MCT250 kicks in, layering in that 250Hz low-mid punch alongside upper-treble definition. One control, two very different tonal directions, all centered around a detented sweet spot so you can find your way back to neutral.
Bassists chasing more low-mid weight — think finger-style players who want their notes to sit further forward in a mix, or anyone whose XTCT-equipped bass feels a bit polite — will get the most out of this module.
