The Bartolini MCT3MC is a tone control preamp designed for players who want surgical control over their midrange rather than a single fixed hump. Instead of locking you into one mid frequency, it offers a switchable boost centered at 250 Hz, 500 Hz, or 750 Hz — letting you dial in anything from a warm, woody low-mid growl to a more aggressive, cutting upper-mid presence depending on your bass, your band, or the room you’re playing in.
Paired with the mid section is a separate treble boost circuit sweeping from 2 kHz up to 15 kHz, giving you an independent way to add air, sizzle, or string definition on top of whatever midrange voicing you’ve chosen. Because the two controls work independently, you’re not stuck compromising one for the other — you can push the mids hard for a punchy slap tone while keeping the top end clean, or scoop back the mids and lean into a bright, articulate treble boost for fingerstyle work.
