The Bartolini xxP46C-B brings the Original Series passive design to 6-string bass players who want depth without sacrificing clarity. Housed in the classic P4 soapbar shape, this pickup measures 4.63″ (117.60mm) long and 1.27″ (32.13mm) wide, making it a straightforward fit for players upgrading within the P4 footprint.
Inside, a quad-coil configuration gives you options: run it full for that deep, rounded low end Bartolini’s Original Series is known for, or split the coils for a leaner, more articulate voice when the mix calls for it. Like the rest of the Original Series line, it’s cast in epoxy, which keeps microphonics and unwanted feedback out of the signal so your tone stays focused even at higher volumes.
This particular pickup is built for extended string spacing, covering 74 to 95mm string widths, and it’s intended for basses with low-curvature fingerboards (16″ radius or greater). If your 6-string has a flatter board and wider string spread, this is the geometry to look for.
