Description
The DEG 03 MS/E is Delano’s answer to a question a lot of bassists ask: why should mid-frequency shaping be locked away inside the control cavity? Part of the Sonar preamp lineup — built specifically to sharpen and refine what your magnetic pickups are already doing well — this MS (Mid Selection) circuit was engineered as one of the first truly compact preamp designs to offer selectable mid-range centers at all.
What sets the MS/E apart from the standard MS version is the “E” — external switching. Instead of reaching for a screwdriver or popping the back plate, you get a three-position toggle switch mounted directly on your bass’s control panel. Flip it and you’re instantly dialing in a different mid-frequency character, whether you’re chasing a scooped slap tone, a vocal midrange growl, or something in between, all without breaking your playing flow.
It’s a 3-band setup at heart, so you still get the bass and treble control you’d expect, but the real story here is that on-the-fly mid selection. For players who like to reshape their tone between songs — or even between verses — having that switch within reach changes how you interact with your instrument on stage.
