Description
Delano’s JC-FE neck pickup takes the classic Jazz Bass split coil concept and runs it through modern winding tech and serious research to get more out of the format. The result is a humbucker that stays dead quiet but still breathes with the kind of dynamic response usually associated with single coils.
- Type: split coil humbucker
- Pole piece spacing (neck): 18.50mm
- Regular pole piece spacing
Those chunky 9.5mm pole pieces aren’t just there to look good, though they do – the size directly translates into a fast, snappy attack up top and a low end that hits hard without turning to mush. Mids come through with real detail and separation, so complex basslines don’t collapse into a blur. Even if you’re detuned low, the JC-FE keeps things tight, articulate, and full of life instead of going flabby.
This pickup was built to be pushed. Drop it into an active circuit, run it through pedals, EQ it aggressively – it holds its composure and keeps giving you usable, musical results rather than falling apart under manipulation. That makes it a strong choice for bassists who like to shape their tone rather than just plug in and hope.
Available individually or as a matched pair with the corresponding bridge pickup for players who want a cohesive, dialed-in set.
