The Demeter PRS-2 is less a boost pedal and more a tone-morphing tool for players who obsess over pickup character. Dial in Demeter’s carefully tuned upper-midrange curve—the product of years of experimentation on the workbench—and watch humbuckers open up with the snarl of a P-90, or hear your P-90s take on a bit of Strat-like sparkle. If your Strat tends to get lost in a dense mix, the PRS-2 gives it the cut it needs to sit up front without turning shrill.
A front-panel toggle lets you choose between two flavors: a straightforward high-end boost, or a variant that piles on more midrange presence instead. Either way, the pot puts you in control, dishing out anywhere from a whisper of lift to a full 14dB boost, engaged instantly via the footswitch when you need it.
Beyond its tone-shaping trick, the PRS-2 doubles as a proper buffer. Drop it at the front of your pedalboard to keep your signal strong through a long chain of effects, or use it to buffer your guitar for extended cable runs without the usual high-end loss and signal degradation that comes with distance.
