The DP193BC Air Norton started life as an Airbucker take on the Norton, and it turned out to be one of DiMarzio’s best-kept secrets in the neck position. Its patented Air Norton magnetic structure cuts down on string pull, which frees up sustain and gives you a surprisingly wide dynamic window — dig in and it’s hot, back off and it cleans up without turning muddy. Expect deep, warm lows with harmonics that most neck humbuckers simply don’t produce. Alnico 5 magnet, 4-conductor wiring, 270mV output, 12.58K DC resistance.
In the bridge slot, the DP155FBC Tone Zone (F-spaced for guitars with trem routing or wider string spacing) trades that mosquito-buzz thinness for real low-end authority. It’s a high-output pickup, but the dual-resonance coil design keeps single notes defined and chords from collapsing into mush — hit it hard for aggressive gain, or ease off for a cleaner, quieter response. Alnico 5 magnet, 4-conductor wiring, 375mV output, 17.31K DC resistance. Split it for a usable single-coil voice when you want to clean things up further.
Rounding out the set: a pack of Ernie Ball EB2220 Power Slinky strings, so your guitar is ready to play the moment the wiring’s buttoned up.
