Description
This bundle pairs two of DiMarzio’s most beloved humbuckers into a single, ready-to-install set, finished in black and backed up with a set of Ernie Ball EB2223 Super Slinky strings so you can string up as soon as the wiring’s done.
The DP193BK Air Norton started life as an “Airbucker” take on the classic Norton design, but it found its true calling in the neck position. Expect deep, warm tone that stays clear under gain, plus surprising harmonic complexity for a neck humbucker. DiMarzio’s patented Air Norton magnetic structure cuts string pull, which means better sustain and far more control over pick dynamics. Try it with 500K pots for extra treble sparkle, and it plays especially well against an Air Classic, Cruiser, Chopper, or Blue Velvet single-coil in the bridge.
In the bridge slot sits the DP155BK Tone Zone — DiMarzio’s answer to thin, buzzy-sounding bridge pickups. It’s a genuinely high-output humbucker but with real dynamic range: dig in and it roars, back off and it cleans up nicely. Bass and low-mid response are huge, single notes carry real depth, and chords sound massive without turning to mud. The dual-resonance coil design pulls out more overtones than you’d expect from a pickup this fat, and it splits cleanly for a convincing single-coil voice.
Both pickups are built for solid body and semi-hollow guitars, wired 4-conductor for full coil-splitting flexibility, and wound with Alnico 5 magnets.
