Description
This is a matched pair built to cover the full range without stepping on each other’s toes. The DP193FW Air Norton in the neck position uses DiMarzio’s patented Air Norton magnetic structure to cut down on string pull, so you get better sustain and a lot more control over dynamics and pick attack. It’s warm and deep without turning to mud, hot without going harsh, and it throws off harmonic content you don’t usually get from a neck humbucker. Think open, expressive, and surprisingly articulate — great on its own or stacked with a hotter bridge pickup.
That hotter bridge pickup is exactly what the DP155FW Tone Zone brings to the table. It’s a genuinely high-output humbucker but with more dynamic range than most pickups in its class — dig in and it roars, back off and it cleans up nicely. Expect serious low-end push, huge-sounding chords, and single notes that stay full even way up the neck. Patented dual-resonance coils keep the overtones alive despite all that fatness, and the Tone Zone even cleans up into a solid single-coil tone when split.
Both pickups are F-spaced for bridges with wider string spacing and finished in white to match your pickguard or hardware. Suited to solid body and semi-hollow guitars alike, and this set ships with a free set of D’Addario EXL116 Medium Top/Heavy Bottom strings.
