Description
This is a proven high-output pairing built for guitarists who want power without losing definition. The DP193FW Air Norton was designed as an Airbucker take on the Norton, but its real talent turned out to be the neck position — deep, warm tone that stays clear under gain, with harmonic content that’s rare in a neck humbucker. DiMarzio’s patented Air Norton magnetic structure cuts string pull, which means longer sustain and much better control over pick dynamics. Run it with 500K pots if you want extra treble and harmonic snap.
Up front, the DP155FW Tone Zone handles bridge duties. It’s a genuinely hot pickup, but with a dynamic range that rewards touch — dig in for maximum push, back off for a cleaner, quieter response. Bass and low-mid output are substantial, giving single notes real depth and chords a big, full spread. The patented dual-resonance coils keep the overtone content rich despite the fat, aggressive voice, and switching to split-coil mode gets you a convincing single-coil tone too.
Both pickups are F-spaced for use with trem-routed or wide-string-spacing bridges, finished in white, and wired with 4-conductor leads for coil-splitting and phase flexibility. Recommended for solid body and semi-hollow guitars. This set also includes a free pack of D’Addario EXL117 Medium Top/Extra-Heavy Bottom strings.
