Description
This is the classic DiMarzio pairing for players who want dynamics without giving up power. The DP193FW Air Norton neck pickup uses DiMarzio’s patented Air Norton magnetic structure to cut string pull, which means longer sustain and a much more expressive response to pick attack. Don’t expect a typical neck humbucker mud-bath — the Air Norton stays deep and warm while staying clear, and it throws off harmonics you don’t usually get from a neck position pickup. Try it with 500K pots if you want to push treble and harmonic content even further.
In the bridge, the DP155FW Tone Zone takes care of the low end. It’s a genuinely high-output pickup, but it’s got more headroom than that description suggests — dig in and it roars, back off and it cleans up nicely. Patented dual-resonance coils keep the overtone content rich even at that output level, so single notes retain depth and chords don’t collapse into mush. It also splits cleanly for a usable single-coil tone if your wiring supports it.
Both pickups are F-spaced for guitars with trem routing or wider string spacing, wound with 4-conductor wiring for full coil-splitting and phase flexibility, finished in white, and built around Alnico 5 magnets. This set also includes a free set of D’Addario EXL115 medium strings (.011-.049) to get your rewired guitar strung and ready to play.
