Description
This is one of DiMarzio’s most trusted neck/bridge pairings, now bundled in matching white covers with a free set of D’Addario EXL110 Regular Light strings thrown in to get you playing sooner.
The DP193FW Air Norton neck pickup took its Airbucker magnetic structure — originally built to spin off from the Norton — and turned it into a surprisingly versatile neck voice. Expect deep, warm tone that never turns to mud, plenty of output without pushing into distortion, and harmonic content that’s genuinely rare for a neck humbucker. The reduced string-pull from its patented magnet design means longer sustain and more room for expressive pick dynamics. Try 500K pots if you want to push treble and harmonic sparkle.
In the bridge, the DP155FW Tone Zone brings serious low-end weight and a wide dynamic range — dig in hard for full-on power, back off and it cleans up nicely. Chords sound massive, single notes carry unexpected depth, and the dual-resonance coil design pulls out more overtones than you’d guess from something this thick-sounding. It also splits cleanly to a convincing single-coil tone if your wiring supports it.
Recommended for solid body and semi-hollow guitars, this F-spaced set is built for 7-string-style bridge spacing and pairs naturally, though each pickup also plays well solo with other DiMarzio models like PAF Joe, PAF Pro, or Air Classic.
