Description
This DiMarzio set puts two of the brand’s most versatile humbuckers together in one black-covered package, and throws in a set of Ernie Ball EB2627 Beefy Slinky strings to get you started.
In the neck, the DP193BK Air Norton was originally built as the neck-position answer to the Tone Zone, but it ended up with a personality all its own. Its patented Air Norton magnetic structure cuts string pull, which frees up sustain and lets your pick attack come through with real nuance. Expect a deep, warm voice that never turns to mud, plus surprising harmonic content for a neck humbucker — try it through 500K pots if you want extra treble bite and shimmer on top.
In the bridge, the DP155BK Tone Zone delivers serious output without losing dynamic range: dig in and it roars, back off and it cleans up nicely. Big lows and low-mids give the pickup a full, chest-forward sound, while dual-resonance coils keep the overtones from getting swallowed by all that bottom end. Split-coil mode also opens up a convincing single-coil tone when you want to change gears.
Suited to solid body and semi-hollow guitars, this pairing hits a sweet spot between power and clarity — great for players chasing a medium-output blues-rock sound or a fatter modern rock voice.
