Description
DiMarzio took what they learned developing the noise-canceling Area 58 and Area 61 for Strat players and applied that same thinking to the Telecaster bridge position. The result is the Area T Bridge — a pickup that hits the classic Tele targets dead center: bright, cutting highs, a tight low end that snaps rather than flubs, and midrange punch with real authority behind it.
What sets this pickup apart on the workbench (and on stage) is how quickly it responds. Dig in harder and the Area T reacts instantly, translating pick attack and volume changes with none of the lag you get from muddier designs. It’s also unusually responsive to pickup height — bring it close to the strings for maximum output, or back it off for a cleaner, lower-volume voice. Thanks to the Alnico 2 magnet structure, you can run it tight to the strings without fighting string pull, so you’ve got real flexibility in dialing in your ideal balance of output and feel.
Wired with 4-conductor cable for coil-split and series/parallel wiring options, this bridge pickup drops into any standard Tele-style build looking for hum-free clarity without sacrificing the twang that makes the format worth playing in the first place.
