The Bluesbucker is DiMarzio’s answer for players who love the snap and touch-sensitivity of a P-90 but don’t want to route their guitar or fight 60-cycle hum. It’s built in a standard humbucker footprint, so it slots straight into any guitar routed for a regular humbucker — no carving, no adapter rings, no compromises to your instrument.
What makes it work is DiMarzio’s patented Virtual Vintage and Airbucker construction, which lets the pickup “see” a narrow string window the way a true single-coil does. The result is a pickup that feels far more open and expressive under your fingers than a typical humbucker, picking up on pick attack and dynamics in a way that closer mimics vintage single-coil response.
