Description
Not every Strat player is chasing that glassy, top-end shimmer from the bridge pickup — some of us find it thin, harsh, or downright unforgiving. DiMarzio built the FS-1 for exactly that camp. It’s roughly 25% hotter than a stock single-coil, with a rounder, fuller voice that pushes into blues territory without losing single-coil articulation, especially on a maple-neck Strat where it really shines.
Because DiMarzio never chased vintage authenticity with this design, the FS-1 leans into thickness and midrange punch instead. Roll the volume back and it still cleans up nicely, so you get snap when you want it and warmth when you don’t. Drop one into the bridge alongside True Velvet pickups in the middle and neck for a set that stays balanced and calibrated across all five switch positions — or load all three slots with FS-1s for a bigger, more aggressive character across the whole guitar.
