Description
Standard humbuckers sense the string at two points, which cancels hum but also wipes out a chunk of the frequencies that give a pickup its sparkle. The DiMarzio Humbucker From Hell takes a different approach, narrowing that frequency cancellation so more of the top end survives. The result is a pickup that reads closer to a Strat® single-coil in character – glassy, articulate, and quick on transients – while still packing roughly PAF®-level output and staying dead quiet.
- Designed primarily for the neck position, where conventional humbuckers tend to sound thick and muddy
- Retains full hum-cancelling operation despite the brighter, more open voice
- Output level comparable to a PAF®-style humbucker
- Clean white cover, DP156W
If your neck humbucker has always felt a bit dark or congested for lead lines and clean chord work, this is DiMarzio’s answer: single-coil clarity and snap in a humbucker footprint, with none of the 60-cycle noise.
