Description
DiMarzio never found a vintage Telecaster neck pickup they were fully satisfied with, so instead of chasing a reissue of something specific, they built the Twang King from scratch to fix what bugged them about the breed. The goal was simple on paper and hard in practice: big, clean lows and highs that stay articulate no matter how you attack the strings.
What sets the Twang King apart is its touch sensitivity. Play soft and it responds with a quieter, softer voice; dig in and it opens up into a louder, more aggressive tone with more dynamic range than a typical single coil can offer. That kind of response doesn’t happen by accident – DiMarzio gets there through controlled-tension coil winding, specialty wire, and magnets that are hand-calibrated rather than dropped in off the shelf.
This is the neck-position model, fitted with a chrome cover for classic Tele looks. Like its bridge-position sibling, it’s wax-potted twice over, so you get squeal-free performance even when you’re running hot amps or stacking on gain.
- Wiring: 2-conductor

If your Tele’s neck pickup sounds flat no matter how you pick, this is built to give that expression back.
