Description
Don’t let the routing footprint fool you — the Fast Track 2 crams roughly three times the output of a stock single-coil into a standard Strat-sized shell. It’s a rail-style ceramic pickup that leans hard into midrange and bass thump, and tonally it sits close to DiMarzio’s Super 3, just shrunk down to fit a Strat’s bridge slot without any cutting.
This is DiMarzio’s hottest single-coil-sized bridge option, purpose-built for players chasing a focused, aggressive shove into rich amp overdrive rather than glassy chime. Wired with 4-conductor cable, it gives you the flexibility to split or series-wire depending on how you want to voice it.
Because it runs hot, pairing matters. In the neck, reach for similarly energetic pickups like The Chopper, Pro Track, Air Norton S, or BC-1 to keep the guitar balanced front to back. For the middle position, brighter, lower-output choices such as the Cruiser or Fast Track 1 help preserve some clarity against the bridge’s punch. Mixing it with lower-output Area or Virtual Vintage series pickups is possible too, just go in expecting a noticeable jump in power when you flip to the bridge.
On the control side, a 500K volume pot is recommended — it keeps the top end from getting swallowed by the pickup’s output.
