Description
Co-designed with Steve Vai for his album The Story of Light, the Gravity Storm Bridge is the counterpart to his Neck model — built to hold its own against that warmer, sweeter pickup rather than just bulldoze through it. Vai’s own description leans more into flavor and texture than raw frequency charts these days, and this one delivers plenty of both: a ceramic magnet gives it forward, cutting energy while the humbucker construction keeps the low end full and controlled, so you get bite without thinning out the tone.
It’s F-spaced, meaning the pole pieces are positioned to line up correctly under the wider string spacing of a Floyd Rose or similar bridge setup — worth checking against your current pickup before you order if you’re not sure what spacing you’ve got. The 4-conductor wiring opens up coil-splitting and series/parallel wiring options if your guitar’s controls (or a future rewire) can take advantage of them.
