The PAF Master series takes the vintage PAF ideal—quiet, bright, dynamic—and refines it into something more articulate without losing the character that made the original so revered. This set pairs the DP260BC neck pickup with the F-spaced DP261FBC bridge model, giving you a wired-in-advance tonal relationship rather than two pickups thrown together and hoped for the best.
The neck pickup is wound just enough to let notes bloom and sustain while staying clear under gain. Expect a rich, throaty low-mid presence balanced by smooth, creamy top end—full without turning to mush. It’s the neck tone players chase when they want vintage warmth that still cuts through a mix.
On the bridge, DiMarzio dialed in real rock and roll attitude. It’s touch-sensitive, responds well to chords and double-stops, and rewards aggressive picking with a snarly, thick growl rather than harshness. The F-spaced design keeps polepieces aligned under strings on multi-scale or wider-spaced bridges.
