The PAF Master isn’t a vintage reissue playing dress-up as a modern pickup — it’s DiMarzio’s answer to the question “what if the original PAF design had been fine-tuned rather than just copied?” Instead of chasing exact vintage specs, DiMarzio studied why those old pickups sounded so good and rebuilt the formula around it, landing on a coil-winding balance that keeps the classic “unbalanced” character (the slightly different output between coils that gives PAFs their organic, three-dimensional voice) fully intact, with true hum-cancelling performance never sacrificed along the way.
