Some vintage PAF chasers want fat and woolly. This set is for the ones chasing something else entirely: quiet, articulate, and alive under the fingers. DiMarzio built the PAF Master pair to capture that elusive combination of vintage character and real touch sensitivity, and this bundle pairs the neck and F-spaced bridge model in matching Black and Creme bobbins, with a set of Ernie Ball EB2627 Beefy Slinky strings thrown in.
The DP260BC PAF Master Neck uses an Alnico 5 magnet and 4-conductor wiring, tuned with just enough winding to stay clear and singing rather than dark and mushy. Expect a rich, throaty midrange with smooth, creamy top end and plenty of sustain — full without ever turning to mud.
The DP261FBC PAF Master Bridge is F-spaced for trem-equipped guitars and runs an Alnico 4 magnet, also with 4-conductor wiring (1-conductor optional). It trades some of the neck’s sweetness for rock and roll snarl — dig in and it responds with a thick, biting growl, and it handles chords and double-stops with real definition instead of collapsing into noise.
