Description
DiMarzio designed the PAF Pro for the era when high-gain rack systems and stacked amps started ruling the stage, and old-school PAFs simply couldn’t keep up. The goal was a humbucker that kept that open, woody PAF character but added the presence and cut needed to survive heavy processing chains.
- Transparent voicing that punches through effects instead of getting swallowed by them
- Tight low end with real snap and chunk, not just boom
- A midrange bump that gives notes a subtle vowel-like “aw” quality
- Smoothed-off treble response — highs stay present without turning brittle or harsh
This balance of clarity and warmth makes the PAF Pro especially at home in the neck position, where it adds definition and character to almost any guitar without losing that classic humbucker feel.
This version comes fitted with a white cover and nickel pole pieces, keeping the look clean and understated while the tone does the talking.
