Description
This set pairs two of DiMarzio’s most versatile humbuckers for players who want articulation up top and muscle down low. In the neck, the PAF Pro (DP151) was designed for the era when high-gain rigs and rack processing started dominating rigs — it delivers a transparent, PAF-style voice with enough presence and cut to stay clear through heavy effects chains rather than dissolving into mush. Expect snappy, chunky low notes, a mid-range spike that gives it a subtle “aw” vowel character (like a wah frozen mid-sweep), and treble that’s tweaked for clarity without turning brittle. It’s a fantastic neck pickup in nearly any guitar, and works well in the bridge too if you don’t need maximum output.
At the bridge, the Tone Zone (DP155) brings serious output without the shrillness some hot pickups suffer from. Dig in and it roars; back off and it cleans up nicely, thanks to a wide dynamic range. Bass and low-mid response are huge, single notes have real depth, and chords sound massive. Its patented dual-resonance coils keep overtones alive even at this level of output, and it splits cleanly for a convincing single-coil tone.
Together, this creme-covered pair covers a wide tonal range — from articulate cleans to saturated leads — and comes bundled with a set of Ernie Ball EB2223 Super Slinky strings so you’re ready to install and play.
