This DiMarzio set pairs two of their most versatile humbuckers into a neck/bridge combo built for players who want clarity without sacrificing power. The PAF Pro (DP151, black) takes up residence in the neck, designed originally to cut through the high-gain rack rigs of the mid-80s without turning to mush. It keeps a vintage PAF-style openness but sharpens the mid-range with a subtle vowel-like spike, so heavy processing and effects chains don’t swallow your notes whole. Low strings snap and chunk, highs stay articulate instead of brittle, and it works well not just in the neck but as a lower-output bridge pickup too if you ever want to swap things around.
In the bridge, the Tone Zone (DP155, black) brings serious output without turning your tone into a wall of mud. Patented dual-resonance coils pull extra overtones out of a pickup that already has huge bass and low-mid presence, so chords sound massive and single notes keep their depth. Dig in hard and it pushes back with real power; back off and it cleans up nicely. Split-coil mode also gives you a usable single-coil voice when you want it.
The set includes Ernie Ball EB2221 Regular Slinky strings to get your guitar strung and ready once the new pickups are wired in.
