Description
This DiMarzio set pairs two humbuckers built for opposite jobs that end up working beautifully together. The PAF Pro (DP151BK) holds down the neck with an open, PAF-flavored voice that stays transparent under heavy gain — no mud, no smear, just snappy lows and a mid-range push that gives it a subtle, cocked-wah character. Highs are voiced to cut without turning glassy or harsh, which is exactly why it also doubles as a bridge pickup in setups that don’t call for extreme output.
On the bridge, the Tone Zone (DP155FBK) — in F-spaced trim to keep the low E string properly under the pole piece — brings serious low-end mass and touch sensitivity that rewards dynamics rather than flattening them. Dig in and it roars; back off and it cleans up nicely. Its patented dual-resonance coils keep the overtone content rich even at this output level, so single notes retain depth and chords don’t collapse into mush. Split it for a usable single-coil tone too.
Both pickups use Alnico 5 magnets and 4-conductor wiring for coil-splitting flexibility, and this bundle throws in a set of D’Addario EXL115 medium (.011–.049) nickel wound strings so you’re ready to install and play.
