Built on the same side-by-side twin-blade coil design, it dodges the usual humbucker headaches — no string-to-pole misalignment, no uneven magnet pull — while packing extra punch into the midrange and low end. The result is a thicker, crunchier voice that trades the classic Tele snap for something closer to a solid blues stomp.
Don’t expect the glassy, ice-pick twang of a stock bridge pickup here. The Chopper T leans dark and dense, with plenty of low-string authority. Pair it with 250K pots (the standard on most Telecasters) and you’ll get a warm, rounded tone with the high-end bite dialed back. Swap in 500K controls instead, and the top end opens up considerably, brightening both the treble and the low strings without losing the pickup’s core weight.
Because it’s a true humbucker under the hood, hum and interference are a non-issue — so you get the fuller output and cancelled noise of a humbucker while keeping a footprint that drops straight into standard Tele routing.
