Description
Designed alongside Periphery guitarist Jake Bowen for his Ibanez signature model, the Titan Bridge pickup was engineered around one non-negotiable: tightness. When you’re chugging through palm-muted riffs in drop tunings, the low end needs to stay controlled rather than turning into mud, and that’s exactly where this pickup earns its keep.
What makes the Titan stand out from typical high-output ceramic pickups is how it splits the difference between bright and dark voicing. Instead of blasting harsh highs at you, DiMarzio pushed the brightness down into the low end for extra clarity and punch, while the top end stays smoother and warmer. The result is a pickup that cuts through a dense mix – even with two or three guitars layered – without becoming fatiguing.
It’s just as happy with open chords as it is with rhythmic muting. Bowen himself describes the feel as aggressive and tight when palm-muting, but full and ringing when you open things up for chords – versatility that matters if your playing moves between percussive riffing and more melodic passages.
