Description
The Tone Zone S takes everything players love about the full-size Tone Zone — that huge midrange push and thick bass response — and shrinks it into a housing that drops straight into a Strat single-coil slot. DiMarzio didn’t just scale down the numbers; they voiced this pickup by ear, accounting for the fact that it’s most often going in that classic slanted bridge position. That meant warming up the top end slightly and adding a touch of extra sparkle to the low notes, so the tone translates properly once it’s angled in the bridge rather than sitting flat.
Under the hood you still get DiMarzio’s patented dual-resonance design, which is what gives the original Tone Zone its rich harmonic content — that character carries over here. 4-conductor wiring means you’re not locked into humbucker mode only; split it down to a single-coil voice whenever you want that quack back. It also pairs nicely in the bridge alongside pickups like the Pro Track, The Chopper, or Fast Track 1 if you’re building out a mixed set.
