Description
Built alongside Steve Lukather for his Music Man LIII signature guitar, the Transition Bridge Model captures the sound he chased on his Transition album—direct, textured, and unmistakably his own. Rather than chasing maximum output, DiMarzio tuned this ceramic-magnet humbucker for character: a slightly detuned pair of coils that lock onto strong fundamentals while letting sustained notes bloom naturally into first- and second-order harmonics.
It’s not the loudest pickup in the DiMarzio lineup, but that’s the point. What it lacks in raw output it makes up for with impact—every picked note lands with real presence, whether you’re digging into rhythm chords or tearing through fast lead lines. This is a bridge pickup that rewards dynamics and touch rather than just brute force, giving you an in-your-face voice that still leaves room to breathe.
The F-spaced design puts the pole pieces in the right position for guitars with Floyd Rose or other wide-spaced bridges, keeping string-to-pole alignment tight for balanced output across all six strings.
