Description
Built on the same tech foundation as DiMarzio’s Area 58 and Area 61, the Virtual Vintage 54 Pro steps in as the successor to the original Virtual Vintage 54 and the VirtuAL 2 middle pickup. It’s aimed at players chasing that dusty, smoldering single-coil growl without dragging noise along for the ride — this is a hum-canceling design through and through.
What sets it apart from the ceramic-flavored Area 61 is how it reacts to your picking hand. Dig in and the Virtual Vintage 54 Pro doesn’t just get louder — it thickens and almost compresses, delivering a fatter, woodier voice that blues players lean on to beef up solos, especially out of the bridge. Drop it in the neck or middle slot and it does double duty softening an otherwise glassy, bright-sounding guitar.
The specially graded Alnico 2 magnet is worth calling out on its own: it’s tuned to reduce string pull compared to standard Alnico 2, so sustain and intonation stay solid even under aggressive attack.
- Wiring: 4-conductor
- Magnet: Alnico 2 (special grade for reduced string pull)
- Output: 140 mV
- DC Resistance: 7.75 kOhm
Finished in white, ready to slot into your single-coil-loaded guitar for a warmer, hum-free vintage voice.
