Description
Rewiring a P-Bass shouldn’t mean untangling mystery pots and crusty old caps hoping for the best. Emerson’s prewired kit hands you a harness built with the same attention they’d put into their own basses, so you can skip straight to reassembly and get back to playing.
Everything is hand-wired with 22 AWG vintage-style push-back wire, giving it that old-school look under the pickguard while keeping the tone character players associate with vintage-spec builds. The solder joints at the input jack are wrapped in heat-shrink insulation, a small detail that keeps things from rattling loose or shorting out down the road.
At the heart of it: two CTS 250K solid-shaft potentiometers (0.250″ shaft, pickguard mount) paired with a 0.047uf Emerson paper-in-oil capacitor for tone shaping that rolls off smooth instead of choking out your low end. A volume mod is included as well, giving you a bit more control over how your signal behaves at lower settings.
Kit includes:
- (2) CTS 250K solid shaft potentiometers, 0.250″ shaft, pickguard mount
- (1) Switchcraft 1/4″ mono input jack
- (1) 0.047uf Emerson paper-in-oil capacitor
- (1) Volume mod

Heads up for import-bass owners: these are US-spec pots, slightly larger than the metric pots found on many imports. You may need to ream your pickguard holes and pick up US-spec knobs to get a clean fit. Need a longer shaft? Reach out before you order and Emerson can point you in the right direction.
