Description
The EMG 57-7 takes the beloved voicing of the original 57 and stretches it across a wider 3.5 x 1.5 inch extended-series footprint to properly cover a 7-string’s bridge position. Alnico V magnets and steel pole pieces give it that familiar PAF-inspired character – woody, articulate, with a touch of vintage grit – while the active circuitry adds the headroom and note separation that low tunings and extended range playing demand. Chords stay defined, single notes cut through dense mixes, and the low B string never turns to mud.
Because this is voiced specifically for bridge duty, expect a tight, punchy response with enough presence to handle everything from clean arpeggios to high-gain riffing without losing definition.
Installation is handled through EMG’s solderless system, so you can swap this in at home without a soldering iron. The package includes everything needed to wire it up:
- 1x 25k volume pot
- 1x 25k tone pot
- 1x battery bus
- 1x stereo output jack
- 1x two pickup in/out bus
- 1x pair of mounting screws
- 1x pickup cable
- 2x connect cables
- 1x output cable
- 1x battery cable
Finished in black, the 57-7 is a straightforward upgrade for 7-string guitarists who want PAF-style character with active output and clarity, without touching a soldering iron.
