Description
The EMG BTC System is the workhorse EQ setup you’ll find on more active basses than any other – and for good reason. It combines a pre-wired balance (blend) control and master volume with a stacked concentric pot handling bass and treble, so you get full tonal control without drilling a fleet of extra holes in your bass. Each EQ stage offers around 12dB of cut and boost, and every control is center-detented, meaning you can dial in a wild tone and still find your way back to flat with your fingertips alone, no eyes required.
Tucked onto the PC board is a dual-dip switch that lets you reprogram the high-frequency response four different ways, so the top end can go from glassy and open to tamed and rounded depending on what a session or a room calls for. Built with surface-mount technology, the circuit stays exceptionally quiet and sips so little current that a single 9V battery will keep it running for a long haul.
This is strictly for EMG-equipped basses – it’s designed to work with EMG pickups only. The package includes 2 concentric knobs plus 2 additional knobs for the balance and master volume controls, everything you need to get the system installed and dialed in.
