Take everything that made the EMG-P a go-to for bass players and widen it to fit a 6-string neck. The EMG-P6 keeps the same split-coil layout as its 4-string sibling, just scaled to cover the extra strings without losing any of the character that made the original a studio and stage staple.
Those short, squat coils are the secret to the P6’s low-end authority. With minimal resistance and generous inductance, and no series wiring to choke the signal, you get roughly double the bottom-end push of a passive pickup. Ceramic magnets keep everything focused rather than muddy, so the low end stays articulate instead of turning to mush under a pick or a heavy right hand. The result is a voice players lean on for its natural presence, punchy midrange, and lows that stay defined no matter how hard you dig in.
