The PJ set pairs two of EMG’s most trusted active designs into one flexible system: the EMG-P for low-end muscle and the EMG-LJ for articulate top end. Run the P alone and you get that classic split-coil thump — warm, round, and built for pushing air. Bring in the LJ and you add tight midrange growl plus a dynamic high-end snap that keeps your attack defined even when you’re digging in hard.
Because the two pickups can be used independently or blended together, this set doesn’t lock you into one style. Slap funk, Motown-style groove, aggressive rock pick attack — it’s all accessible from the same bass, without needing to swap gear between sessions. Both pickups share EMG’s low-noise active circuitry, so you get a quiet, punchy signal with plenty of headroom regardless of which coil (or combination) you’re leaning on.
