EMG built the PJ-HZ set for bassists who love the punch and feel of passive pickups but still want the low-noise, high-headroom character EMG is known for. It pairs the PHZ (split P-style) with the LJHZ (J-style bridge unit), both loaded with ceramic magnets and steel pole pieces for a clear, wide-open sonic window rather than a compressed, mid-heavy voice. Drop this set into any Fender-style PJ configuration as a straight, no-rout replacement.

Installation is painless thanks to EMG’s solderless system, included in the box: two 250k volume pots, one 250k tone pot, a mono output jack, eight pairs of mounting screws, a bridge ground connector, pickup cables, connect cables, an output cable, and a bridge ground wire. Everything needed to wire the set without picking up a soldering iron.
A Fender polish kit is bundled in too, so once your bass is rewired and sounding right, it can look the part as well.
