The EMG-T is EMG’s dedicated two-pickup replacement system built specifically for Telecaster*-style guitars. Rather than just swapping magnets and hoping for the best, EMG engineered the whole system around Alnico magnets to deliver the broad frequency response and thick, present tone that traditional Tele pickups tend to lack.
The star of the set is the EMG-FT rhythm/neck pickup — widely regarded by EMG as one of the finest pickups they’ve ever produced. Magnet choice, coil geometry, winding count, and a bit of design luck all lined up to give it an unusually sweet, musical voice that still cuts through a mix. Paired with its bridge counterpart, the EMG-T set brings active clarity and punch without sacrificing twang.
Because both pickups are active and fully shielded, you get dead-quiet performance — no 60-cycle hum, no buzz, no microphonic squeal, even at high gain or stage volume.
