Hum has always been the tax single-coils make you pay for that glassy Strat sparkle — Gen 4 Noiseless pickups are Fender’s latest attempt to get rid of the tax while keeping the tone intact. Rather than stacking coils in a way that scoops out high end, this design is built to preserve the airy top end and snap that makes a Stratocaster sound like a Stratocaster, while quietly cancelling the buzz you’d get from fluorescent lights, dimmers, and other electrical noise on stage or in the studio.
Plugged in clean, they stay articulate and detailed, with the kind of chime that makes chords ring out individually instead of smearing together. Push them into an overdriven amp or pedal and they open up into a bigger, thicker voice than you’d expect from a noiseless design — plenty of push for rock rhythm tones and singing leads without losing that Fender identity.
This is Fender’s most refined noiseless pickup design to date, aimed at players who want vintage-inspired Strat tone as their baseline but can’t live with the hum that usually comes attached to it.
