The Fishman Fluence Modern Humbucker takes the classic Alnico voice and rebuilds it from the ground up using Fluence Core technology, ditching the hum, noise, and inductance quirks that have haunted wire-wound pickups for decades. What’s left is a pickup that sounds like a pickup should: direct, dynamic, and completely uncorrupted.
Voice 1 delivers the Modern Active sound you’d expect from Alnico V — full, round, and pushed with just enough boost to add punch, but with a level of articulation and dynamic response that traditional passive designs simply can’t touch (peak frequency 950kHz). Flip to Voice 2 and you get a crisp, fluid, clean humbucker tone built for neck-position work — clear and airy without ever turning thin or plinky (peak frequency 8kHz).
Because it’s Multi-Voice, not just switchable, each voice is a fully distinct pickup design rather than a coil-tap compromise — no output loss when you toggle between them. It drops straight into standard humbucker or single-coil routing, stays dead quiet even through long cable runs, and holds onto its top end no matter where you set your volume knob.
