Description
Tosin Abasi doesn’t play one style, so his signature Fluence set doesn’t do one tone. This active humbucker pair packs three distinct voices per pickup plus genuine coil-splitting into vintage-style single coil sounds, all reachable through a push-pull pot without ever touching a soldering iron mid-set.
Voice 1 leans modern and muscular, with a fattened low-mid push tuned to Tosin’s own preference. Voice 2 goes clean and articulate for percussive tapping and glassy chord work in the neck, while the bridge version turns into a cutting rock/hard-rock tone — think overwound humbucker midrange crossed with vintage PAF sparkle. Flip to Voice 3 and each pickup becomes its own single coil: Tele-like twang up front, quacky Strat-style bite in the bridge. Fishman even tuned the magnetic circuit itself, blending blade and pole-piece magnets in the neck unit for authentic single-coil string interaction.
- 1 ceramic humbucker (bridge) and 1 alnico humbucker (neck/middle)
- Volume and Tone pots plus push-pull Voice Selector (works in either position)
- All wiring needed for install (pickup selector not included)
Specs: Ceramic VIII bridge unit measures 140 gauss with peak frequencies of 750Hz (Voice 1), 1.4kHz (Voice 2), and 7.8kHz single coil mode. The Alnico IV/V neck unit runs 120 gauss with peaks at 420Hz, 1.6kHz, and 5.8kHz single coil. Both draw 2.5mA at 2k output impedance, running off a standard 9V or optional rechargeable pack rated for up to 100 hours.
