Description
The Matrix Infinity is Fishman’s refined take on its flagship Matrix Series, built around the Acoustic Matrix undersaddle sensor—reportedly the best-selling pickup of its kind. This is the narrow 3/32″ (2.3mm) saddle slot version; a wide 1/8″ (3.2mm) format is also available if your saddle calls for it.
At the heart of the system is a completely redesigned active preamp mounted at the endpin, feeding soundhole-mounted rotary knobs for Volume and Tone. The Tone control isn’t a simple cut/boost—it dips the mids while lifting treble and bass simultaneously, giving you a wider tonal palette without hunting through multiple stacked pots. A switchable voicing option lets you tailor the pickup’s response to different body sizes and playing situations, so the same unit can adapt from a jumbo dreadnought to a smaller-bodied guitar.
Connections are solderless for a cleaner install, and an integrated LED flags a low battery before it becomes a problem onstage. Runs on a standard 9V (not included), and while the hardware is designed for accessibility, professional installation is still recommended to get the saddle fit and electronics dialed in correctly.
