Description
Most “Tele pickups” are just tweaks on the same 60-year-old formula. JBE’s Danny Gatton set isn’t — it’s a ground-up dual blade design developed hands-on with Gatton, aimed squarely at players who want vintage Tele character without the usual compromises. Instead of that thin, glassy top-end Teles are notorious for, you get lows, mids, and highs sitting in genuine balance, so the twang and snap are all still there, just with real body behind them.
The T-Neck pickup is the fix for a complaint every Tele player eventually voices: neck and bridge that don’t match in output. Here the neck can be dialed in to sit level with the bridge, or pushed well past stock output levels on either pickup, all without losing that snappy Tele attack or introducing hum, hiss, or squeal — this set is dead quiet.
The T-Bridge uses Joe Barden’s staggered-blade construction, the same layout found across their single-coil-sized Strat and Tele bridge pickups, which keeps response even across the outer strings instead of favoring the middle of the neck.
Both pickups drop straight into standard Telecaster routing with no body modifications required. 4-conductor shielded cable is used throughout, giving you full flexibility for series/parallel, coil-split, or any other wiring scheme you want to run, and the set ships with mounting hardware plus downloadable wiring diagrams to get you dialed in fast.
