Description
Joe Barden built the HB Two/Tone for guitarists who want humbucker output without the mud, and single-coil sparkle without the 60-cycle buzz. Drop it into the bridge slot and you’ve got two distinct voices living in one standard humbucker-sized housing — no need to choose between them.
- Full HB mode delivers clear, articulate low end with high sustain, staying musical whether you’re dialing in blues, rock, or jazz tones rather than defaulting to that generic “humbucker fuzz.”
- Flip a DPDT mini-switch or push/pull pot and the pickup transforms into S-Deluxe territory — same output, same character, not a compromised coil-split or series/parallel trick.
- Pair the single-coil mode with a middle pickup on Hum/Single/Single or Hum/Single/Hum guitars for that elusive “in-between” quack, done properly.
- Both switching modes are dead silent — no pops, no hum, just a clean tonal shift on demand.
Because it’s built to standard humbucker dimensions, the HBTT drops straight into existing routs with no routing or modification required. It’s wired with 6-conductor shielded cable, and you’ll get wiring diagrams plus mounting hardware included to make the swap straightforward. This bridge-position version comes finished in black.
If you’ve ever wished your humbucker-loaded guitar could also nail authentic Strat tones without a separate pickup or invasive rewiring, the HB Two/Tone is exactly that shortcut — engineered, not faked.
