Description
Weighing in at just a third of an ounce, the iBeam is L.R. Baggs’ patent-pending answer to the age-old problem of piezo pickups sounding, well, like piezo pickups. This bridge plate transducer adheres to the underside of the top, inside the guitar, where it stays out of sight and out of the way of your instrument’s natural acoustic response.
What sets the iBeam apart is its microphonic sensitivity. It picks up on the subtle stuff — finger squeak, top tapping, the wood’s own resonance — while staying resistant to feedback onstage. The result is an amplified tone that feels honest to the instrument rather than an electronic approximation of it. No install headaches either: a placement jig comes along for the ride, letting you find the sweet spot on the bridge plate and mount the pickup in a matter of minutes.
This particular unit is used and comes as part of a Strapjack Plus setup, meaning the iBeam arrives pre-attached to the strapjack assembly rather than as a standalone pickup.

L.R. Baggs builds every system, from their simplest to their most elaborate, to the same standard: get it right the first time, with no fuss between the box and the stage. The iBeam remains one of their most respected solutions for players who want their nylon string guitar to sound like itself, only louder.
