The Element Active System VTC brings LR Baggs’ undersaddle Element pickup together with a discrete, pre-contoured Class A preamp housed right in the endpin jack — no carving, no big preamp puck to hide. For players who want hands-on control without a permanent-looking control plate, a small soundhole-mounted volume and tone knob assembly drops in and pulls out just as easily, keeping the top of your nylon-string clean when you’re not gigging.
What sets the VTC apart tonally is its low frequency compressor, which reins in the exaggerated boom that undersaddle pickups are notorious for and instead tracks the natural dynamic behavior of the instrument. The result is amplified tone that feels like your guitar rather than a processed version of it. Installation is straightforward and plug-and-play, and LR Baggs includes a battery bag so your 9V stays put and rattle-free inside the body.
