Description
Some pickups chase specs. Raw Vintage chases feel — and the RV-60 set is built entirely around nailing that classic, breathy single-coil voice players have been hunting for decades. Rather than guess at vintage tone, the crew behind these pickups logged serious bench time with different amps, pedals, and gear combos before landing on the recipe you get here.
Every RV-60 is hand-assembled in Southern California using Alnico 5 magnets and single Formvar copper wire, wound to period-correct thickness and turn count. The push-back cloth leads keep the vintage vibe intact right down to the hookup wire, and the coils are finished with layered lacquer and wax dips for that stable, well-behaved output old-school builders relied on.
Tonally, expect an open, airy character with genuine touch sensitivity — snappy highs that don’t turn brittle, lows with backbone, and a midrange that keeps its complexity even under a heavy pick attack. It’s the kind of set that lets the guitar’s own wood and harmonics come through instead of covering them up.
